About the Team:
The Unfolded Team provides a next-generation analytics platform offering a suite of tools for working with big geospatial data visualizations, that lets users create maps from geospatial data, perform powerful analytics, share and publish maps.
About the Position:
Reporting to the Sr Manager, Unfolded Cloud in Serbia, the Cloud Engineer will serve an important role in building out advanced analytics services in Unfolded cloud and on-prem / private cloud offerings. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, able to demonstrate initiative and professionalism and attention to detail.
In this role you’ll:
- Build REST microservices to query, serve, and analyze geospatial data
- Design and build scalable, performant, and maintainable services to power the Unfolded Cloud
- Write test automation, conduct code reviews, and take end-to-end ownership of deployments to production
- Work with the backend, product and sales teams to understand customer needs and translate them into backend engineering projects
- Maintain and improve existing code with a pride of ownership
What you’ll need:
- B.Sc. in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience in building highly interactive SaaS applications using JavaScript / Node.js and modern JavaScript development tooling
- At ease with technology, able to quickly pick up new platforms and troubleshoot
- Excellent English, written and oral communication skills
- Sound judgment, a high degree of professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proactive, able to take initiative and work independently
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
Nice to have:
- Experience with other Big Data technologies, like BigQuery, Snowflake, HDFS, Hive, Presto, Arrow, Parquet is always appreciated
- Experience with geospatial data
- Experience with spatial indexing systems: H3, S2, geohash
