FlashBlade Team

The FlashBlade team is responsible for the FlashBlade product. With the FlashBlade product, we are building a scale-out all-flash file and object store, designed for the modern world. To really understand how our customers work with data, we are deeply immersed in AI, modern backup, log analytics with Splunk and Elastic, data pipeline with Kafka, cluster computing with Spark, and many more use cases.

You will love it on the FlashBlade team if you:

  • Want to understand how modern applications – like AI or Splunk – work with data and how we can make it better.
  • Are ready to dive into a complex problem and be the one who will drive it to a resolution.
  • Enjoy working with distributed systems, algorithms, operating systems, Linux kernel, database internals, hypervisors, containers, compilers and hardware… or at least some of those.
  • Want to work with other great engineers and develop or refine skills that will serve your entire career.
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment in an open office.

If this describes you, let's talk! You can take a part in changing how the world works with data.

IF YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE, YOU WILL…

  • Design and build software that increases the productivity of every developer on the engineering team.
  • Create tools and automation that make testing and integration faster, simpler, and more effective and let engineers self-service to help themselves.
  • Optimize and manage test resources and create reports to track against metrics.
  • Manage capacity planning for an ever-growing engineering organisation while looking for ways to let us use our resources more efficiently.
  • Deploy and run multi-site services and scale deployments to a variety of systems.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical applications/services.
  • Optimize the throughput and reliability of our Continuous Integration systems and processes and infrastructure.
  • Automate, automate, automate. Have a sharp eye for toil and ruthlessly eliminate it.
  • Provide insight to and implement fundamentals such as monitoring, production best-practices, incident response, and self-services.
  • Work with Pure Storage hardware and software (we build on top of our own leading-edge technology: Flashblade).
  • Work with microservices (Docker, Consul, Nomad, Kafka, Spark).

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE…

  • 3-5 years minimum working in a CI/CD, DevOps or SRE role
  • Proven experience of shepherding applications to a production state

  • Relentless desire to learn, automate, and improve code and infrastructure

BENEFICIAL WOULD BE…

  • Understanding of basic networking concepts
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL
  • Experience with Storage products
  • You’ve worked with containers and software-defined infrastructure/infrastructure as code: Puppet, Ansible, Chef etc.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting systems like Prometheus, Nagios, or Grafana, etc.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU!
