Client Service Engineer


Purpose of the Role

Client Service Engineer (CSE) is primarily responsible for all technical activities as well as client-facing on a day-to-day basis. The CSE works with complicated software and different databases in order to meet clients’ needs for our automated publishing solutions services within the financial industry. Specifically, the CSE creates solutions to automate the document creation processes. This includes providing excellent client services at all times and demonstrating accountability and responsibility for the technical portion of the client relationship.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effectiveness for the full implementation lifecycle including, but not limited to document analysis, data analysis, document configuration, building data handling scripts and custom-configured automated document templates;
  • Ability to think, adapt, and react quickly;
  • Thrive in a collaborative setting, combining client-facing, technology-based career/educational history with strong business acumen.
  • The majority of the role for 4-6 weeks every quarter is to provide support both as a client service team member and a technical lead in producing mutual fund factsheets for each client;
  • Provide other regulatory documents so that our clients get to market according to their schedule;
  • CSE is also responsible for participating in or leading small or large projects for our clients when we are not in production;
  • Technical skills include but are not limited to document analysis, business requirements analysis, data analysis, writing load scripts, and designing and configuring templates;
  • Serve as a resource on difficult Synthesis Publishing Architecture (SPA) based implementation issues;
  • Define and identify new features to ensure the SPA implementation is streamlined;
  • Provide SPA expertise to all SPA users.

Required Experience & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), light network/server issues and renderer configuration
  • 2-3 years of experience in a technical field or role, preferably working with complicated end-user solutions
  • Comfortable with task switching
  • Commitment to troubleshoot and review SQL code
  • Experience with publishing systems or website development is a plus
  • Proficiency in SQL, JIRA experience is also a plus

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Advanced level of both spoken and written English language
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Computer Science preferred)
  • Any relevant certificate would be considered a plus
