We are currently looking for a Remote Python Data Engineer to join our growing team. In this role you will:
Work with logistics industry veterans to convert their decades of experience into rules based algorithms using Python.
Create ETL pipelines that pull data from a number of different sources and store cleaned data into cloud storage solutions.
Work with data scientists, senior cloud engineers, and software architects to take trained machine learning models and create scalable microservices using FastAPI and Docker.
Working with cloud engineers, implement a periodic machine learning retraining application using open source frameworks such as Airflow, Luigi or Kafka. This application should retrain existing machine learning models using updated data.
About you:
- Experience using Python, and comfortable applying proper coding patterns
- Possess solid math skills
- Possess a desire to deliver high quality code with solid unit testing and debugging skills
- Experience integrating with third party API’s
- Experience with FastAPI, Django, Flask or similar turnkey web frameworks
- Familiarity with ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries and SQL databases.
- Experience with a major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Enjoy trying new software technologies
Nice to haves:
- Understanding of cloud architecture patterns and scalable design patterns
- Implementation of security and data protection practices
- Experience with scalable microservices
- Experience with Machine Learning API’s
