Summary of key responsibilities/deliverables

QA Team Lead will work cross-functionally with the technology and Innovation Department. Role will chart a path for QA team and help execute the vision of the Quality and Resource Planning department, and simultaneously lead and grow QA team members. Direct the development of the QA strategy, methodology, performance and framework. Will be responsible for driving and improving the function of the QA in agile environment but not exclusively in this area. He/she will focus on continuous QA improvements including the usage of the appropriate testing tools, test techniques, quality monitoring tools and business cases/logic analysis and recommendations.

What will you be doing?

Defining Quality Metrics

  • Define quality standards and metrics for the current project/product.
  • Implement and support KPI driven approach across the team.
  • Make the QA team aware of the Quality metrics and resolve all the queries.
  • Collaborate with the strategic, business and functional stakeholders to ensure the quality metrics are reviewed, closed and agreed upon.
  • Create a list of milestones and checkpoints and set measurable criteria to check the quality on timely basis.

Defining Testing Processes

  • Define the processes and test work products in Agile environment
  • Ensure all relevant development tasks meet quality criteria in accordance with industry standard through standard test processes such as test planning, test execution and defects monitoring

Leadership

  • Support Global QA best practices (e.g. ITIL framework, ISTQB standards)
  • Efficiently coordinate and lead resource allocation within the team
  • Assign various tasks to the team members per strength of individual, use challenge to boost approach.
  • Set the goals and objectives for the team members fully aligned with the company objectives
  • Encourage problem solving and critical thinking and take charge of quick instructive decision making

Reporting

  • Review status reports from team members and taking appropriate action accordingly
  • Be a single point of contact for the QA team for all the escalations related to testing and Quality assurance and monitoring
  • Send clear, concise, and visual status reports to the higher management, scheduled and ad hoc
  • Create and define the risks contingencies and plans timely

Process improvements

  • Motivate team to improve the efficiency so that the time saved can be used in different work areas

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 3 years of experience on managing positions would be desirable
  • Familiar with QA terminology and practices, as well as standard software development lifecycle phases and their purposes.
  • Database experience (preferable MySQL and PostgreSQL)
  • Familiar with some of the existing tools for issue tracking and team collaboration (Jira)
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Leadership skills
  • Independent communicating with both business users and developers.
