As a Software Engineer in Test in our Engineering group, you will be responsible for the delivery of automation frameworks and tooling, while also supporting engineering teams in utilizing these during development. You’ll be involved in the ideation and implementation of new tooling and processes to help move engineering towards full CI/CD.
You’ll be participating in the development of a scalable, best-in-class LMS and you’ll strengthen the great company culture that we have in LearnUpon.
What will I be doing?
- Drive impact and innovation by designing, implementing, and improving test automation and performance tools, frameworks, and processes across Engineering.
- Improve engineering productivity by developing advanced automated build, test, and release tooling in collaboration with our DevOps team.
- Bake in a culture of quality and shifting test automation left.
- Actively improve the level of craftsmanship in our tooling and frameworks.
- Collaborate with and guide Engineers in automated testing in areas such as API, web, mobile and microservices.
- Identify and drive the adoption of best practices in code health, testing, testability, and maintainability.
- Mentor and onboard new or less experienced colleagues.
What skills do I need?
- 3+ years of experience in design and development of a range of tooling and frameworks using programming languages such as Python, JavaScript and Ruby.
- Able to effectively communicate technical ideas to and collaborate with both technical and non-technical peers.
- Experience working in an Agile-focused environment.
- Experience with UI, mobile and API test automation and best practices.
- Strong understanding of CICD and how test automation fits into this.
- Previous experience of microservice contract testing using tools such as Pact.
- Experience using continuous integration systems like Jenkins, CircleCI and GitLab.
- Excellent communication skills, team player.

Not required but considered a plus
- Hands-on experience building frameworks to support various forms of automated testing such as API, UI, performance, load, usability etc.
- Previous experience working in a SaaS environment.
- Exposure to containerised development environments such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Previous experience using Python and Robot Framework is an advantage.
- Previous experience of eLearning technologies.
- Experience with performance testing, with tools and frameworks such as Locust, Jmeter and Taurus.
