What you will do

As a Systems Designer, you’ll be part of our remote-first, cross-functional product development team, consisting of product managers, designers, testers, and developers. You’ll work on improving and extending our internal design system called Bliss. Bliss is powering all kinds of different areas of the BRYTER platform and has become an essential part of how we design and develop solutions for our customers.

In this role, you will drive the design work around Bliss in creating concepts, visual design solutions, in-depth documentation and guidelines for our components. Together with the whole design team at BRYTER, you will continuously work on improving the components and toolkits of Bliss, while also being a design systems evangelist across the company.

Furthermore, this role in also focused on improving our designer developer collaboration. You'll need to collaborate and support different cross-functional product development teams in their adoption of Bliss and making their usage as straightforward as possible.

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience working on design systems

Design systems isn't a new topic for you. Ideally, you already worked as part of a design systems team and know the challenges design system teams can face.

  • Profound knowledge in maintaining component libraries in Figma

You have in-depth knowledge of Figma and know how to manage and scale libraries across different teams in Figma. Besides that, you're also able to use your knowledge to support and train your design peers with their Figma questions.

  • You live at the intersection of design and engineering

You are a designer who cares about good user experience and accessible solutions. As part of this team, you have an understanding of good design and love to collaborate with engineers to come to a perfect solution. While you aren't a front-end engineer, you are not afraid of front-end technology fundamentals like HTML/CSS and use your knowledge to shape a better design and engineering collaboration across BRYTER.

  • You think in systems

You know that a design system is more than just components. You’re thinking about the bigger picture while also focusing on the small improvements. Furthermore, you have hands-on experience scaling or contributing to a design system.

  • Strong communication and writing skills

You are a good communicator who is vocal about design values and are willing to challenge assumptions and current conditions. Besides that, you have experience in writing detailed and simple design documentation or guidelines.

  • Push for accessible design solutions

While color contrast is an important factor when it comes to accessible interfaces, you know that building accessible components is more difficult than that. You know how to get the information you need and pair with engineers to build Bliss components in an accessible way.

This role may not be for you if you reside outside of CET +/-2h time zones.
