We are looking for an DBA who will work on a large, long-term, and very interesting project for a large organization from the EU.
Key responsibilities:
- Installation and management of Oracle servers and database instances incl. DB upgrades and patches
- Daily monitoring of the database performance incl. CPU/memory, I/O, storage resource utilisation
- Database capacity planning (our volumes are growing drastically)
- Performance tuning/query optimisation
- Proactively scanning PLSQL code to identify and deal with actual and potential blocking/deadlocking issues
- Database migration and replication of CDB and Non-CDB databases
- Perform a PLSQL code review for developers to identify possible threats to Oracle DB performance and make data model optimisation recommendations
- Support concepts of application performance and stability testing.
- Execution of deployment scripts (plus documentation and archiving of all relevant files and documents)
- Performing other typical daily DBA maintenance tasks without supervision
- Periodical, on request support outside of business hours, e.g. for Software Releases or DB upgrades
Required skills:
- Expert knowledge in Oracle DB version 19c
- Expertise in multi-node Oracle Exadata incl. application balancing between Exadata server nodes.
- Expertise knowledge in Shell Scripting & other automation like Terraform etc.
- Expertise in Oracle Cloud/non-CDB/CDB/PDB architecture
- Experience in managing Oracle databases in AWS Cloud / Oracle Cloud
- Strong knowledge about Tablespace Management & Partition Methodology
- Expertise in backups & restore, recovery models, database shrinking/compression methods,
- Experience with Oracle Golden Gate and Data Guard
- Strong knowledge about archiving strategies
- Good spoken and written English
