Polazak is a Serbian journey-planning platform. Its database incorporates the complete timetable dataset of Serbian suburban, inter-city and international bus and railway timetables and tariffs. We invest substantial efforts to improve the quality of our reference data through regular cooperation and systematic data verification with bus operators and station managers. Current activities are focused on development of B2B solutions for transport operators and enhancing user experience on the Polazak website and application. Our aim is to remain a reliable platform for providing timetables and ticket booking in Serbia and the Western Balkan region.

  • Be involved and participate in the overall application lifecycle

  • Definition and design of technical requirements
  • Responsible for CI/CD
  • Build high-quality, reusable, sustainable, and scalable code and functional web applications
  • Stay up to date with industry state of art trends and best practices
  • Follow new and emerging technologies. Cloud-native!
  • Follow practices: code review, unit testing, CI, and other best practices
  • Build frontend in React and NextJS Stack
  • Build backend Micro-services and REST APIs
  • Develop, test, and release web applications autonomously
  • Mentor other developers and collaborate with peers


  • 3+ years of experience as a Web developer (FE/BE)
  • Proficient knowledge of JavaScript / Typescript
  • Experience with most of the technologies listed below
  • React, Next, React Native, Redux Toolkit, Material-UI, Firebase
  • Kubernetes, Docker, MongoDB, Redis, MySQL, NATS Streaming service will be plus, Digital Ocean Cloud, Jest, Socket.io
  • Experience with Git, Express, Promise-based asynchronous patterns
  • Experience working with REST-style API
  • Attention to detail
  • Fluent in English
